I am a provider of both Samonas and TLP. Both are quality products. I would start with TLP for ultra sensitive kids. It is gentler and more easier to use.
What about TLP, The Listening Program?

I am trying to decide between Samonas and TLP... (Sort of ruled out Tomatis standard method because where we live we would have to travel too far for sessions and I just can't handle more appointments. Especially if there are options for in-home systems where more than one family member could benefit).

I have heard from a couple of moms with autistic kids that Samonas should be under close supervision, because of "side effects" like head banging and screaming (immediately subsided when the intensity or frequency of therapy sessions was altered). Has anyone heard anything like this in regards to TLP?

Any feedback at all is helpful! Thank you!
Liora in Beijing

[I just heard back from Kay Ness, the author of this article. She writes, "Any listening program can overstimulate a specific child - I've seen it with all of them. That's what the negative reactions you mentioned are - overstimulation - too intense for that particular child. But for lasting changes Samonas Sound Therapy is the best. If the child is overstimulated, you need to drop back to a lower listening level and proceed more slowly." -Miriam]

Kay,
I have a daughter who used to be sensitive to loud noises. Now that she is starting to talk at age 6 she is covering her ears at times. example is a school concert. I am having her ears tested each week for 2 mo to see if she has fluid, she does not get ear infections.
Faith started talking around a year but did not increase till I put her back on Piracetam last year.-age 6yrs.
How is your program different than NACD?
I have found this sight very helpful. It clarifies what I have always wondered; such as differences in auditory and visual processing methods ect...
Could I get some info on ICAN?
thanks
