On My Desktop-II

Adrienne at  Our Unexpected Journey is upset that she received no info at all about DS after her prenatal diagnosis.  Plus:  Amnio photos!

Starfall.com is one of my favorite reading enrichment sites.  Special Connection Homeschool has come screenshots and a great review.  My youngest daughter (no diagnosis) taught herself to read at age four, simply by playing at this site.  It is a good blend of phonics and sight-reading.

Michelle at Big Blueberry Eyes wonders if sleep is overrated.   It sounds like Libby at Blessings and Glory will find out.  She has a sweet set of photos of Charlie announcing that he will be a big brother.

LIbby also discusses entering a post-DS pregnancy with trust.  Liam’s dad is worried about having another baby  and runs the numbers from the geneticist.    But he’s right:  Liam should have a brother or sister.  Go for the blessing!

Brady’s mom had a confrontation with the kindergarten teacher.

We have two totally different visions. And, I don’t think she’s willing to change hers…….

Kim confronted the professionals at the IEP meeting and got what she wanted.  Next time, she says, she’ll  bring the legal book to quote from.

On the health front, Jennie at Just Another Mother Blog links alopecia to celiac disease.  It makes sense.  Gut issues are huge in DS.

Did you know that the Congress now has a Down syndrome Caucus? Also,  New York state is looking at charging families for Early Intervention services.

Nick is contemplating his mortality and decides on a Discretionary Trust.
