Trusted answers…not!

Renate at The Campaign for Down Syndrome found a horrendous description of children with Down syndrome at a hospital’s “Trusted Answers” page.

‘….They often have a short attention span. They are very impatient and get frustrated and angry….’
‘….They may also not know how to control sexual impulses..’
‘….Emotional problems often include: angry toward herself….rude…sad…feeling hopeless…agitated…’

Ick.

Renate wrote a letter similar to what I wrote eight years ago to a different webmaster. Her letter is better. And maybe they will pay attention to her since she is the President of the Nova Scotia Down Syndrome Society.
